Taiwan Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (TAFPRS)
The Taiwan Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (TAFPRS) was founded in 2005, and has not only grown in numbers but also in stature locally and internationally in two decades. The TAFPRS has become one of the member society of International Federation of Facial Plastic Surgery Societies (IFFPSS) since 2007.
The core mission of TAFPRS is to advance quality care and safety for plastic surgery patients. TAFPRS aims to support its members in providing excellent patient care by encouraging high standards of physician training, ethics, and research in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery.
The TAFPRS holds the Spring Meeting and Annual Meeting each year. By presenting relevant, practical and engaging clinical content, participants should be able to discuss surgical and nonsurgical facial rejuvenation and reconstruction techniques for optimal patient satisfaction and safety. The TAFPRS also actively arranges live demonstration workshops, and cadaver dissection courses every year to help participants translate expanded knowledge into practice for the improvement of patient outcomes and satisfaction.
Since 2021, the TAPFPRS has its publication, called Journal of Facial Plastic Surgery and Medicine. The key mission of it is to promote the art and science of facial plastic interventions by publishing significant peer reviewed articles on all aspects of reconstructive and cosmetic surgery of the head and neck.
The past two decades have been filling with exciting developments and challenges. With the continued support of its members, the Society is looking toward a bright future where it will continue to play a leading role in shaping the ever-changing landscape of plastic and reconstructive surgery for many decades to come.
